Alpine View Motel - Te Anau

The location of the hotel was very central, so close to the town centre, a quiet leafy avenue, close to shops and restaurants and the lake and the city center. It was easy to get to Four Square te Anau. The continental breakfast was a big plus.

The room was verynice and neat. John's warm welcome and helpfulness was a highlight!

Extremely dated facilities. No air-conditioning - not really a worry at this time of years(March) but would be hell in Summer. Lack of airflow when curtains were closed. Keeping the windows open turned out not to be a good option because of sandflies - still itching. Light outside unit could not be turned off - done by proprietors prior to their bedtime - not ours. Electrical fittings scary - so old. Worried about starting a fire when charging camera batteries etc. Light above bedhead loose. Whole room/motel probably needs a complete electrical rewiring. Don't know how it passes safety standards.

The location is pretty good. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and cooperative.

The price was too high for a studio room without cooking facilities.

The amenities were excellent, especially the

Smart TV with Netflix. The indoor/outdoor flow was excellent, nice for a fantastic experience with lovely views. The room could use a refresh to enhance comfort further. The staff were helpful, our stay was enjoyable.

Well priced place, had a very good stay for 3 nights. The location was unbeatable and exceptionally nice because it was short walk to the lake and centre of the town, and South Island. Furthermore, in detail with the local highlights.

Quiet unit with an electric kettle, fridges and a stovetop. Clean bathroom, cozy bed, separate bedroom.

From the wonderfully warm welcome by John on arrival, to the lovely spacious rooms equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, I felt right at home. The kitchenette allowed us to prepare simple meals, and the fast Wi-Fi let us stay connected. The best part? The location was perfect, just a short stroll to Lake Te Anau.

The staff, particularly Petra, were attentive and friendly, providing great assistance during check-in. My room was clean and offered excellent amenities. The location was perfect, only a short stroll to Lake Te Anau, nice for lovely evening walks.

Shower felt quite cramped!!! Plus, the hotel seemed to need a deeper clean, especially around the skirting boards!!! The numerous rules gave off a campground vibe, which isn't ideal in a motel setting!!!
